Heroes Day Event
We are pleased to announce the 5th annual Heroes Day which will be held on:
Sunday September 26, 2010.
Heroes Day was started four years ago here in North Haven to give honor and appreciation to the men and women who served our community with excellence. The Theme for this year is:
“Champions of Honor!”
There men and women include those who serve us as Firefighters, Police Officers, Emergency Medical Techs, those who serve in our Military and National Guard and the many Veterans who are now serving in various capacities in our local and state levels. This special day of recognition was grown to include many of our surrounding towns and cities truly expressing the spirit that makes our region one of the best places to live in the United States.
I would like to personally invite you and your entire family to join us for this special day which gives us opportunity to celebrate the spirit of service that makes our communities a safe environment to live and raise our families. Our program will begin promptly at 10:00 am.
Our special guest for Heroes day will be Chuck Brewster. Chuck understands deeply the impact of selfless service to community and Country. He served twenty three years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service. His duties ranged from assignments with the President and Vice-President to coordinating security for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1992 Democratic National Convention. He had been assigned to various offices in his career, but retired as the Special Agent in Charge of the Seattle Field Office. Chuck is an Air force Veteran who served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. He also served with the Pensacola, Florida and Birmingham, Alabama Police Departments.
A lunch will be provided for you and your family after the program as our way of saying ‘thank you’. Children’s activities will be provided throughout the afternoon. We are pleased to announce that several local businesses have donated goods and services to be given in a free raffle as a further way of showing appreciation.
